Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass-489)

To lodge an application for this visa, you must have:

• The invitation to apply
• Proficiency in English
• Scored at least 65 on the Point Test
• Passed in health and Character requirements
• The age less than 45 years when you got the invitation
• You skill assessed by the relevant evaluating authority for your nominated occupation.
• Selected an occupation that matches your skills and qualifications, and comes on the relevant medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).

Stage 1

The first stage of the application holds a skill assessment stage with the Government body. Your skills assessment is conducted by the Department of Home Affairs who will see if you have the required level of skill in your preferred occupation to practice in Australia.

Stage 2

Once you have obtained a positive skill assessment, you must submit an Expression of the Internet. You also need to apply for state sponsorship with an Australian state/territory, which will require you to meet the sponsorship requirements

Stage 3

Once you received an invitation to Apply (ITA), you will allow to continue to the DOHA stage of the application, where you can submit your completed application to be approved by DOHA so your visa can be granted.
