- Language proficiency: You must be proficient in both writing and speaking either in English or Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese).
- Basic Educational Qualification: Applicant needs to show that you possess an undergraduate degree from a recognized university or a tertiary educational institution. Under special conditions, in the absence of such degree, documentary proof of decent technical qualifications, relevant professional abilities, or experiences will be considered.

Achievement-based points test
Achievements-based point test features two criteria, wherein, an applicant needs to meet anyone of the two criteria to qualify for QMAS Visa, those criteria are:
- The applicant must hold an award of exceptional achievement such as the Nobel prize, Olympic medals, etc.
The applicant can show that his/her work has been acknowledged by his peers or has contributed immensely to his/her area of interest.
