Australia Child visa (subclass 101)-

The Child Visa Subclass 101 is a Visa that allows a child living outside Australia to migrate to Australia to live with their parents. For this visa, the child must be single and must fulfil some special age requirements. This is a permanent visa, and the cost for the same is AUD 2,665. Here is an overview of the Visa:

Eligibility of the child

In order to attain Child Visa:

1. The child must be sponsored by the parent or the parent’s partner. The child should either be biologically related, adopted, or a stepchild.
2. The child should not be engaged to be married, married, or in a de facto relationship.
3. The child should fulfil either of the following age requirements:

• • Dependent and under 18 years of age
  • Over 18 years and under 25 years and a full-time student
  • Over 18 years and has a disability

4. The child must fulfil the health requirements in the form of health examinations, which are valid for 12 months.
5. If the child is older than 16 years of age, they must furnish a police certificate of each country that they have lived in the past.
6. The child should not have any outstanding debts to the Australian government. If they do, they must make the necessary arrangements to repay the same.

In addition to the above requirements, the child must be outside Australia at the time of lodging the application. Moreover, Visa must be in the best interests of the child.

Who can sponsor:

• The sponsor must be either an Australian citizen, an eligible New Zealand citizen, or must hold an Australian Permanent Resident Visa.
• If you are no longer the partner of the child’s parent but still have a legal responsibility of the child, provided that the child is younger than 18 years of age, then you can be a sponsor.
• You can also be a sponsor if you have adopted the child before becoming an Australian citizen, an eligible New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent visa holder.
• You can be a sponsor if you were earlier in Australia but are outside the country while lodging the application.
